WORLD OZONE DAY Not a layer but a protector World Ozone Day 2022 is observed under the theme Global Cooperation Protecting life on Earth. The theme is decided to save the life of people who survive on the Earth to make protect the ozone layer and our environment. World Ozone Day, observed every year on September 16, is also known as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. The date was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1994, commemorating the date in 1987 when nations signed the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. The need to declare an action to preserve the ozone layer came as a result of the outset of its depletion. The ozone layer is a region of the earth’s stratosphere absorbing most of the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation. Teacher’s Day is a day that is celebrated all over the country on   5 th September.   It’s the day that happens to be the birthday of India’s former President, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. He was one of the respected teachers. Dr. Radhakrishnan was a teacher in many reputed universities. The former President was appreciated and loved by his colleagues and students. Women’s Equality Day

Women’s Equality Day   The Indian Constitution recognizes every person as equal. This means that every individual in the country , including male and female persons from all castes , religions, tribes , educational and economic backgrounds are recognized as equal. When persons are treated unequally, their dignity is violated. Earlier, no law existed to protect people from discrimination and ill treatment but now there are several that work to see that people are treated as equals. Societies that value women and men as equal are safer. Gender equality is a human right. Women’s equality day is observed on 26 th August.   Every year, 29th August has been observed as National Sports Day in India. The first National Sports Day was celebrated on 29th August 2012, on the birth anniversary of Major DhyanChand who was the star of hockey team of India.  The day is used as a platform to launch various sports schemes as well as organize  various sporting events and seminars to spread awareness about the importance of physical activities and sports in life .

Raksha Bandhan

The festival of Raksha Bandhan is a glorious and enthusiastic Indian celebratory festival which is celebrated mainly among the Hindu Indian families. Sisters and brothers wait for the arrival of Raksha Bandhan throughout the year. It does not occur on one particular day every year; instead, it follows the traditional Indian calendar. Roughly, it happens in the first week of August. This year, the festival of Rakhsha Bandhan has fallen on 11th of August. NATIONAL MOON DAY

  On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 carried the first humans to the moon. Six hours after landing on the moon, American Neil Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface. He spent two and a half hours outside the spacecraft.  Buzz Aldrin soon followed, stepping onto the lunar surface. After joining Armstrong, the two men collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material.

Roger Binny - the highest wicket taker on 1983 World Cup from India

  On 19th July of 1955, popular Indian Cricketer Roger Binny was born in Bangalore, Karnataka. He was a renowned cricket all-rounder who is especially remembered for his marvelous  bowling performance in the 1983 Cricket World Cup, where India got victory against   the West Indies. Roger Binny was a right handed batsman and a right arm medium bowler.  Roger Binny was the highest wicket taker in the 1983 World Cup taking all total 18 wickets. He also repeated such exemplary performance in the 1985 World Series Cricket Championship by taking 17 wickets.
