Teacher's Day
Teacher’s Day
“Teachers encourage minds to Think,
hands to Create and Hearts to love”.
Teacher’s Day is a day that is
celebrated all over the country on 5th
September. It’s the day that happens to
be the birthday of India’s former President, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. He was
one of the respected teachers. Dr. Radhakrishnan was a teacher in many reputed
universities. The former President was appreciated and loved by his colleagues
and students. After Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President, his students
requested him if they could celebrate
his birthday all over the country. He told his students that he would feel
better if they would celebrate his birthday as Teacher’s Day instead. From
1962, 5th September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in our country.
Teacher’s Day is a day celebrated to
show the appreciation towards teachers and their special contributions towards
education. Teachers are the ones who hold knowledge and empathy for their
students. Teachers leave a significant impact on each person’s life. They help
students, motivate and guide them to become the best version of themselves. Teacher’s
Day is one of the most memorable days in the life of a teacher and a student.
Every year our students of STEM WorldSchool, one of the best international schools in Kolkata, take initiative to
celebrate the Teacher’s Day with great joy and enthusiasm to respect and value
the efforts of their teachers. Students decorate their classrooms to give a
surprise to their teachers. They present teachers with flowers, handmade cards,
pens and chocolates. Special programme
is being organized on this day by the students of senior sections. Principal, Teachers
and staffs are invited in the auditorium and they watch their performances.
Students give speeches, perform dances, songs, poem recitals, skits and fun
games to express their emotions and themselves towards their teachers with
light hearts.
Teacher’s Day is celebrated by the
students to pay respect and tribute to their teachers and is a reminder of the role
that teachers play in nation-building by guiding and educating the brightest
minds of our country.
